Tea Ceremony creates a sacred space of us to slow down, soften & come into stillness. Tea spirit dances through silence & simplicity to take us on a gentle yet deep journey within ourselves.

During our time together we will sip upon multiple bowls of tea from wild growth tea trees. These trees have absorbed the life force of the rain, wind, sun & changing seasons, giving them an enlivening Qi that will move through us during ceremony, offering us the medicine of nature within a single bowl.

We do not drink this tea as a beverage, but as a medicine. Through the lineage & art form of Cha Dao- or ‘the way of tea’- we weave together ritual, stillness, and beauty to receive the gifts of Tea.

Tea is a plant medicine that meets us exactly where we are. Through her gentle nature she can be consumed by nearly every person. She has very few barriers to entry. She invites us to come as we are & she will show up there. She is a beautifully generous plant spirit who absolutely loves all humans.

Tea Ceremonies

I offer community group Tea Ceremonies multiple times per month at Dust Off Yoga in Littleton NH. Check my events page to see current ceremonies. I also offer private tea ceremonies for personal solo sits, small groups, corporate/business team connection, weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, rites of passage, and other bespoke ceremonies. I am also available for booking to serve tea at your group retreat. Please reach out to inquire about private bookings.

Tea Ceremony FAQs

  • I always suggest people do NOT come to tea on a fully empty stomach. Please eat something light and nourishing at least an hour before. It is best to not arrive with an overly full stomach or having eaten unhealthy heavy food prior.

    Please wear comfortable loose clothes that you can breathe deeply in and sit for long periods of time.

    Day of ceremony please do not consume any other forms of caffeine including coffee, matcha, tea, cacao, or energy drinks. It is also preferred to not consume other plant medicines prior, including cannabis, so that you may experience tea spirit only.

  • In these Tea Ceremonies I serve the tea plant camellia sinensis, which does contain caffeine. However, the caffenine in tea isn’t the comparable to the caffeine in coffee.

    While the caffeine in tea and coffee is the same compound, the caffeine in tea is initially trapped by its own polyphenols and tannins, and is then released gradually, for up to ten hours at a time. Thus, there is no "crash," but a period of sustained stimulation. The caffeine from tea can sharpen the mind, increase concentration and eliminate fatigue, all while keeping you feeling relaxed. 

    Though the tea that will be served has a small amount of caffeine, it offers relaxing benefits to the nervous system.

    Evening Ceremonies will not have caffeine. And for individuals highly sensitive to caffeine you may request a low to no caffeine tea for private tea ceremonies.

  • I am more than happy to share about my experiences & relationship with tea, but I do not personally teach Cha Dao- the lineage of Tea. If you are interested in learning about this Global Tea Hut, and its main teacher Wu De, are where you want to go. Living Tea is always a wonderful resource.
